MHSOBFC Players selected in VAFA Team of Year

Each year the VAFA announces a Team of the Year for each Section (including U/19′s) where 22 players are selected and recognised for their on-field performance throughout the year. This year, MHSOBFC has been represented in both the Senior Division One Team of the Year, as well as the Under 19 South Team of the Year.

Anthony Svirskis was selected on the Interchange for the Division One Senior team, which

is well deserved in a year in which Anthony on Saturday will become the only player to have played every Senior game of the season. In 17 games thus far, Big Tony has kicked 20 goals (to lead the MHSOBFC goal kicking), and been named in the best 7 times.

In addition, MHSOBFC was represented by three selections in the U/19 South Team of the Year. Gibson Crampton was named in the Ruck, James McDonagh was named as the Rover, and Sam Shearer was named on the Half Forward Flank. This trio has provided a great on-field example for their team mates in 2014, and there is genuine excitement for their transition in to Senior Football in the coming years.
