Round 4 Reserves Match Report

MHSOBFC:  19.21-135

Bulleen Templestowe:  5.5-35

On Saturday we saw MHSOBFC at home against Bulleen Templestowe. With both reserves teams coming off a good win in round three we knew it would be important to get off to a good start.

The first quarter saw a very disappointing start for the Unicorns and Bulleen proving they were here to play. Our boys seemed very lacklustre and was missing composure. We were lucky Bulleen couldnt take full advantage of our poor start and the quarter ended with them only a few points ahead.

The second quarter we finally started to see some Unicorns footy. The midfield really stepped up and took control of the clearences. O. Gilbert and C. McWhinney really lead by example from the middle. We began to lower our eyes and hit targets up forward. We kept Bulleen to one goal in this quarter and managed to put on 5 ourselves.

The second half followed on much the same as the second quarter. We proved a much fitter side and continued to run over the top of Bulleen. Our two key forwards W. Rebakis and M. Mazoletti took full advantage of this dominance and finished the game with nine goals between them.

It was great the see the Unicorns bounce back after a poor first quarter and go on to win the game by 100 points. We now look on to next round against a tough opponent in Uni High where we know we can’t afford another slow start.

Go Corns!
