Round 7 Seniors Match Report

St Johns:      10.9-69

MHSOBFC:  15.13-103

The Senior team looked to make up for a poor performance against Yarra Valley and bounce back at St. Johns. There were few key ins for the Corns, with the skipper Titch Dub and Hops Hellier returning to make immediate impact, with Wilson providing a best on ground performance, and Will chipping in with 4 of the best sausages you’ll see in Div 2 footy.

It was a tight contest from the get go, but the good guys got the early jump and took a 21 point lead into the main break on the back of strong performances by BJ, Jimmy and Ant, who have proven to be a very dangerous trio.

St. Johns came out of the half firing, kicking the first four goals of the 3rd quarter and taking the lead. Will Maurice stood up to the challenge and led the back 6, who weathered the storm and sparked the Unicorns fight back.

After being just a goal up at 3qtr time, the young blokes decided it was time to take over with Prince Lou and Goose Lane dominating the 4th, and leading Melbourne High to a gutsy 34 point win.

Goals: W. Hellier 4, C. Neville 2, K. Smith 2, T. Beale 2, M. Fennessy-Kent, W. Suhr, M. La Fontaine, A. Littore, T. Rendell
