On Saturday we saw MHSOBFC at home against Whitefriars. With Whitefriars behind us by 2 points this was a battle for top spot on the ladder.
After the poor performance last week it was important to bounce back and play some good footy against some quality opposition. The first half we struggled to convert our chances and gave up some easy goals. To Whitefriars credit their running off the ball was a lot better than ours as it seemed they had more players around each contest and were getting the ball forward more times than we were.
We went in at half time three goals down. We knew it was important to get a good start in the third quarter and had the challenge to win the quarter to set us up to win the game in the fourth.
Unfortunately Whitefriars came out really confident and put on 3 quick goals, extending their lead to six goals. This was really flattening for our boys. The fourth quarter was much the same as we only managed to score one goal in each quarter and missed our chances of getting back in the game.
It was another disappointing result for the boys but once again creates a really good challenge for us next week to bounce back, get back to playing our style of footy and really set ourselves up for the last few rounds and into finals.
