Round 15 Reserves Match Report

UHS-VU AFC       18.11-119

MHSOBFC                8.10-58

On Saturday we saw MHSOBFC away against Uni High. It was second v third on the ladder and the winner would more than likely secure second spot going into the finals. Finishing top two is important in obtaining the second chance or week off during the finals, so there was a lot to play for.

Uni High won the toss and chose the kick with the wind in the first quarter. Just like the last two weeks our opposition started the game with a higher intensity and really took advantage of the wind, kicking five goals in the first quarter and keeping us scoreless.

In the second quarter they defended really well and continued to crack in harder than us. In saying this, it was a much more even contest with both sides kicking three goals.

The second half followed in their favour as they continued to work harder than us, and finished the game with a ten goal victory. It was another disappointing loss for the twos.

In saying all this it was great to get some game time into a few names who haven’t been around a while. S Shearer & J Stokes were stand outs on the day which is really impressive as it was their first and second game for the season. It’s really important we bounce back next week and look to build the confidence back up leading into the finals.

Go Corns!
