Round 15 Seniors Match Report

VHS-VU AFC    21.13-139

MHSOBFC                4.3-27

The senior game actually started off with a fair bit of optimism and positivity, the sun was shining with almost perfect weather for football. This was shown in a highly competitive and tight first quarter with the Unicorns just trailing by 1 point at quarter time but having most of the play and also some help from the wind.

Jye Sandiford unloaded a huge bomb from outside 50 which was no doubt a highlight, and Kane Smith presented and kicked truly as per usual.

Unfortunately, that was almost all to ride home about, Uni High kicked away in the 2nd, albeit hopes were high and the competitive nature was still in the Unicorns at half time, the Vultures were too slick through the middle and further kicked away in the third and, what was hopefully a big learning curve for the senior boys, the last quarter where heads no doubt dropped and 9 goals were conceded.

Strong performances from a few such as Jye Sandiford and Will Penh were some key highlights to take out. An opportunity to take on a rejuvenated Emmaus St Leos should keep the boys excited for the upcoming week.

Go Corns!
