Round 17 Reserves Match Report

Power House        2.2-14

MHSOBFC        19.11-125

On Saturday we saw MHSOBFC away against powerhouse. The last time we played them it was a convincing win but we remembered they ran hard and attacked the footy all day, therefore it was important we started the game switched on from the very beginning. We won the toss and chose to kick with the wind. It was a difficult ground to play on with the entire middle square covered in water and mud. Both sides avoided the middle the whole game.
The first quarter began just how we expected, with Powerhouse throwing their bodies around and going hard at the ball. They managed to kick the first goal of the game. After this though we began to switch on and play our brand of footy. We kicked the next 8 goals and went in at quarter time 7 goals up. Apart from conceding a goal we really couldnt have asked for a more positive start.
The rest of the game continued with our dominance and we only conceded 1 more goal for the whole game. I was really happy with the majority of our skills, especially on a slightly wet day. Our positivity and moral was high all game too which has definately been lacking over the last month and its great to see the boys gelling again right before finals.
One more round to go and then we get straight into the finals. Im looking forward to a really positive month of footy from the reserves and I hope we can go all the way. It will take a lot of hard work to get there but I know our boys have the skills and the desire to do so!
Go Corns!
