Elimination Finals Reserves Match Report

MHSOBFC        11.6-72

Old Paradians       7.5-47

On Sunday the reserves faced off against Old Paradians in an Elimination final out in Box Hill. It was a fabulous day for footy with perfect conditions on a VFL deck. The winner would go on to the prelimination final and it would be season over for the loser. There was a lot at stake.

It was a nervy start for both teams in front of the biggest crowd of the season. The ball kept going back and forth with both teams struggling to score. The first quarter ended with only 1 goal kicked between both sides. Thankfully the gosl belonged to us.

The second quarter was a bit more free flowing with both sides kicking 3 goals. With only 1 goal the difference at half time we knew we’d have to keep battling to get the W. The third quarter remained close woth only a few goals being scored and we went into the last change with a 15 point lead.

The last quarter we seemed to run over the top of them and had our best quarter for the game. We kicked 5 goals to their 3 and won the game by 25 points. We probably didnt play as well as we would have liked, however it was still great to get the win. We have a big game again next Sunday against Uni-High and i look forward to another victory with the boys and marching on into the big dance with a lot of confidence.

Go Corns!
