MHSOBFC U/20s coaching update

MHSOBFC U/20s Assistant Coach and former player Matt Glover will take on the U/20s Head Coach role in 2023. Matt assumes the reins from Adam Tardif who ends his tenure after three seasons with the Unicorns.

New U/20s Head Coach Matt Glover

Matt played for three years in the U/20s & club development squads (‘Jnrcorns’) as a key forward, including back-to-back grand final appearances in 2018-19. He retired in 2020 due to a debilitating knee injury, and last year joined the U/20s coaching group. He is also a Melbourne High Old Boy, graduating from the school in 2018.

Matt will be supported by Unicorns premiership player Luke Campbell as the Senior Assistant this season, and 2021 U/20s vice-captain Kevin Pious, who has decided to step away from playing football and assume the Junior Assistant role.

Adam Tardif ends his tenure after three years at the Unicorns. Off the back of the non-season in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, Adam took charge of the ‘Jnrcorns’ in the Thirds competition in 2021, and helped them to qualify for finals before the season was cut short again. The team returned to the U/20s competition this year in division four and competed admirably with a predominantly new group of players. Although not successful in terms of wins & losses, it was a hugely important season for individual & team growth, laying a strong foundation for next year and beyond. We thank Adam & his family for their invaluable contribution to the club and wish him well in his new role at Maribyrnong Park Football Club in the Essendon District Football League.
