The Seniors were treated to the final game in the career club stalwart Tom Rendell and the debut of two more U/20s – Nafi Anaan and Will Young – taking on Brunswick at Alec Gillon Oval.

The penultimate round of the regular season was a week of mixed emotions for the MHSOB senior group. The deflation of having lost the previous week and possibility of playing finals being over meant this was on paper a dead rubber.

Coming out to Koonung Park, MHSOB were met with the full force of winter’s wrath, as blanketing rains welcomed the start of their match against Old Yarra Cobras.

The Castle on the Hill was treated to a good old-fashioned shootout between MHSOB and Whitefriars.

In the afternoon sun, MHSOB faced South Melbourne, their finals aspirations effectively hanging on a win against quality opposition, in tricky conditions.

Finals hopefuls MHSOB welcomed St Mary’s Salesian during the TAC’s Road Safety Round, looking to build into the final month of the regular season.

MHSOB travelled to Alphington to take on ladder leaders Parkside, looking for a win to bridge the gap between themselves and the top four.

MHSOB met Bulleen Templestowe in another milestone for the home side, with Jamie Radcliffe Smith playing his 100th club game, an incredible achievement for a highly valued player & person after first coming down through the Under 19s.

In the inaugural Tackle Your Feelings round, the Seniors welcomed Aquinas in turbulent conditions at the Woodfull-Miller Oval.

Looking to pick up an away win against very competitive opposition in Old Paradians, MHSOB started brightly, as they made best use of the early tricky conditions.

The Woodfull Miller Oval was treated to one of the games of the season, as the Seniors looked to enter the bye on a high but were met with an equally hungry Old Yarra Cobras side.

The Seniors looked to continue their commanding recent form and press on with their finals aspirations but ran into a stern test against top-of-the-ladder Brunswick.

The Seniors came to the Whitefriars College Oval upbeat after their previous victory and looking to make it four wins in a row.

Coming off the Reserves’ dominant 104-point demolition of St. Mary’s Salesian, the Seniors looked to exact the same measure.

With the weather abating, the stage was set for the Seniors to continue their winning form at home against South Melbourne Districts.

Coming off a losing start to the season, MHSOB pushed to kickstart their year by taking on the 1-1 Aquinas.

After a first-round loss it was great to be back at the Woodfull-Miller Oval on a sunny Saturday to play against Parkside.

The 2023 season started with an away game for the senior side on a drizzly April day at Bulleen-Templestowe, a side we’ve had the wood over the last few seasons.
