Reserves Round 15 2021

On Saturday MHSOBFC came up against West Brunswick on their home deck. It was always going to be a good game as both sides fought for second spot on the ladder.

West Brunswick started well with the wind and we were too slow to react. They booted the first 5 goals of the game. This first quarter would turn out to be what cost us the game. A few early injuries didnt help, and consequently we only had 1 on the bench for the second half.

The boys fought really hard, especially in the third quarter which was probably our best quarter for the season, keeping West Brunswick to 1 goal against the wind and giving ourselves a chance to win the game.

Although we outscored them in the last three quarters, it just wasnt enough to get the job done. S. Keough, E. Riddle, W. Hart & J. Wood fought hard all day and had really good games for us. It was fantastic to see J. Cullen back playing for the unicorns and he too had a very good game. A. Tran kicked some crucial goals for us and ended the day with 3...another great performance! We learnt plenty this week and Iā€™m confident the boys will bounce back and have a successful finals campaign in the weeks to come.

Final Score: West Brunswick 8.13-61 def MHSOB 5.6-36

Goal Kickers: A. Tran 3, M. Fennessy-Kent, W. Penhalluriack
Best Players: S. Keough, E. Riddle, W. Hart, A. Tran, J. Cullen, J. Wood
