R10 2024 | Thirds vs UHS-VU

MHSOBFC took on UHS-VU at the Woodfull-Miller Oval in what was the Thirds’ first game in three weeks after a league-bye and Old Yarra forfeiting the last game. It was also an important day as the club celebrated the milestone matches of Thirds co-captains, Pat Bulford and Albert Kuang, with Pat playing his 50th match and Albert his long awaited 200th.

Jamie Shulman and Billy Mullin dominated in the forward line working well together to be goal-scoring options. Between the two of them, they scored 10 goals on the day.

It’s important to call out the backline who collectively played a great game restricting the visitors to only one goal in the second half. Lucas Blatchford played his usual customary role at centre half back, taking numerous intercept marks. Angus Brookes and Adam Stikolitzik were both rocks in defence all day stopping UHS-VU from moving the ball up the field and launching a lot of the team’s offensive play.

In what was a great way to round out the match, Albert Kuang scored a goal in the final quarter with all of his teammates getting around him. Congratulations to both Albert and Pat for their contributions both on and off the field to the club and we look forward to their next milestone.
