R4 2024 | Thirds vs Box Hill North
The Thirds came up against Box Hill North in their second game on home soil, intent on equalling the win-loss column for the season.
The story of the day was told in the middle of the ground with Charlie Colman taking control of the ruck and being physical at the contest when the ball came to ground. The midfield was ably led by Jye Gillespie, Dinesh Francis, Nafi Anaan, and Saravanan Sritharan who all showed their class through ball movement and taking the game on through the corridor, and also mastering the contested ball against their opponents.
Jamie Shulman made a successful return to the team kicking four goals, whilst Dinesh Francis kicked two goals from the midfield. Dan Tsintsiras played his best game for the club, scoring two goals, but more critically, putting on forward pressure to cause multiple turnovers from kick ins. Rhys Parry, a relative newbie to Australian rules football, also played a strong game in his first ever attempt at full back, helping to lock down his opponent and ably supported by Liam McCoppin and Lucas Blatchford.
The Thirds will look to continue their winning form into Round 5 against Swinburne.
