R3 2024 | U20s at PEGS

MHSOBFC came up against PEGS in a challenging away game in Keilor Park in round 3.

The Unicorns found it tough transitioning from the midfield to forward line early in the game, resulting in a scoreless first half. PEGS utilised quick handball receives in defence and out of the midfield, allowing them to score points quickly.

Ben Sharrock and Minro Eshwara were solid in defence, limiting opposition goals and putting enough defensive pressure on PEGS to ensure they kicked 34 behinds.

The final score wasn’t pretty for MHSOBFC, losing 166-6, with midfielder Matt Giacarra kicking the lone goal for the visitors.

After a month of calibration for the divisions, the Unicorns will return to division 4 this week, hopeful to get back on the winner’s list.

Final Score: MHSOBFC 1.0-6 defeated by PEGS 22.34-166

Goal Kickers: Matthew Giarracca

Best Players: Austin Reynolds, Callum Hackman, Lachlan Sharrock, Matthew Giarracca, Benjamin Sharrock, Lachlan O’Halloran
