Thirds Round 10 2021

A trip to Central Reserve saw the Thirds take on Mazenod, who came out of the blocks with a bang. A nine goal to three first quarter saw a six goal lead into quarter time. Our defenders were put under significant pressure, but strong performances from Evan Riddle, Shannon Keough and Callum Hayden across the day helped to repel the worst of Mazenod’s advances.

Coming out after half time with a ten goal deficit, nobody was expecting the ‘Corns to come out with an explosive third quarter. Led by Nick Wood out of the middle, the ‘Corns put on 5 goals to 1 in the third quarter, with goals to Orlando Seelander, who put in a strong shift across the afternoon, Matt Bradshaw, Evan Riddle as well as the ever reliable Linford Dean.

There was plenty to take out of this quarter, but the half-time deficit was too much to come back from in the end, with the Third going down by 8 goals.
